Insurance Lounge is led by a group of capable leaders bringing a background in technology, customer service, insurance sales and management.
Insurance Lounge President and CEO Michael DeLaGrange grew up in the insurance industry. His father, David, owned a small insurance brokerage in his hometown of Grants Pass, OR, focusing primarily on health and life insurance. While attending the University of Oregon on a football scholarship and starting for three years for the Ducks where he has been elected into the University of Oregon Athletics Hall of Fame. Michael’s dream was to play in the NFL. Unfortunately, just two weeks after his last senior game in the winter of 2004, his father passed away unexpectedly. Overnight, everything changed for the DeLaGrange family. Michael moved back home to help his mother run the agency, and it quickly grew. Michael realized there was a better way to shop for and purchase insurance, so Michael set his focus on reinventing the insurance industry by making the consumer shopping and buying experience more accessible, efficient, and fun. In 2012, Insurance Lounge was born as the country’s first interactive retail insurance store, and it continues to push innovation and transform the industry to this day.
Michael also founded and runs two nonprofit organizations. The Oregon Athlete Foundation to further student-athletes' exceptional experience at the University of Oregon by providing them with an organization that will help with their transition to becoming alumni through mentorship and networking opportunities, and then fostering those relationships into lifetime engagements as Ducks.
Michael also founded 100% Tip to help foster generosity and random acts of kindness in the effort to create an environment of hope and positive change in our communities. Businesses and individuals who have committed to be a part of this change by joining commit to at least one 100% tip or 00 in random giving per month.
Keagen serves as Insurance Lounge's Chief Technology Officer. He joined the company as a property and casualty agent in 2014 prior to the opening of the Lake Oswego storefront. When the Beaverton storefront opened in November of 2014, Keagen took on the role of Regional Manager to oversee the operations and staffing of both Portland-area locations. During this time, he added life, health, and commercial insurance sales to his responsibilities. In late 2017, Keagen took on the role of VP of Expansion to focus on growing Insurance Lounge through strategic partnerships and investment fundraising, working with Michael to raise a seed round of ~M in funding. Prior to joining Insurance Lounge, Keagen led the Oregon Athlete Foundation as the nonprofit’s Development Director. He graduated in 2013 from the University of Oregon’s Lundquist College of Business Honors Program and Robert D. Clark Honors College with a B.S. in Business Administration. He was raised in University Place, Washington.
Casey is a licensed CPA in the state of Oregon, and previously in the state of Washington. As a licensed CPA, Casey started her career at a Big 4 accounting firm working in the Seattle and New York City offices. She eventually transitioned into private industry in both Controller and CFO roles where she gained experience in financial statement preparation, budgeting & forecasting, internal controls, HR & payroll, employer risk & insurance, and executive team business management. She graduated from the University of Oregon’s Lundquist College of Business Honors Program and Robert D. Clark Honors College with a B.S. in Accounting in 2005. She also received her Master’s in Professional Accounting & Taxation from the University of Washington. Casey was raised in Hong Kong and then moved to Grants Pass with her family when she was 10 years old. After living in Seattle and NYC, Casey and her husband Marcus moved back to Grants Pass to start a family in 2012 and now have a son Aiden (5) and a daughter Zoey (3). Casey is currently a board member of the local school district, and Marcus owns his own concrete finishing company.
Ashley is the current Chief Brand Officer at Insurance Lounge. Ashley first started in insurance in 2006 working at the family run agency and continued to create and develop the Property & Casualty department. She focused on personal lines growth and continued into developing the commercial department within the agency as well. Together, her and Michael created the Insurance Lounge format and continued to build the business, products and departments. Prior to Insurance Lounge, Ashley majored in Physical Education and earned her Bachelor of Science while playing division one softball at Utah State University. Together, her and Michael have two beautiful children, Gavin and Emma.
Insurance Lounge is the culmination of an idea whose sole purpose is making Insurance easier to purchase and understand for consumers. With a heavy emphasis on technology and simplicity, Insurance Lounge will pave a new way for consumers to interact online and in our storefronts by creating a truly interactive Insurance experience.
